Story
Langrisser I
Langrisser begins some hundred years after Elthlead's campaign. In the absence of demons, the human world becomes dominated by the ambitions of individuals.
The secret sword of legend, Langrisser, was praised for the unlimited power that it gave to its wielder. As a result of the common people's avarice for that sword, it was mutually agreed to protect the sword from the viewing of the surrounding people, in order to prevent the spilling of much blood. It eventually passed into the royal lineage of the Baldea Kingdom, whose members are the final descendants of an ancient hero, and Langrisser remained protected.
By obtaining this legendary secret sword, the Dalshis Empire's Kaiser Digos? aims to dominate the continent, and he begins an invasion of the Baldea Kingdom with a large army division. Before the overwhelming military might, the Baldea Kingdom was suppressed. Moreover, even the royal castle was going to fall.
He achieved his goal of taking the sword, but it wouldn't be long until Prince Ledin rallied support in the countryside to reclaim his castle and begin an offensive against Digos? to take back the sword. According to his court magician, Jessica, with the sword removed from Baldea, Elthlead's seal on the demons had begun to erode.
After a great assault on the empire, Ledin defeats Digos? and reclaims the sword -- but it is too late. The Prince of Darkness Böser had stirred from his slumber and begun the revival of a dark god.
Langrisser II
Since the time of Langrisser I, when the evil sword Alhazard and the Crusaders of Chaos were resealed, a hundred years have passed. There is no longer a Baldea Kingdom to continue protecting Langrisser, and Langrisser has faded to a sword of legend once again.
The Rayguard Empire's Kaiser Bernhardt obtained Alhazard after a search, and then launched invasions on all territories of the continent. He seeks to unify the continent, so that he can declare a permanent peace.
After the true power sealed in Alhazard is released, the dreams of many kings will be broken as Emperor Bernhardt achieves his great ambition of Unity of the Continent. However, behind the scenes, since the underlying aspirations of Prince of Darkness Böser and Alhazard are involved, as a result, the battle for Unity of the Continent that Bernhardt commenced involves not only the empire, but also the Crusaders of Chaos, who try to advance the three-way war that also involves the Descendants of Light.
Mage Hein continues his travels, meeting the young man Erwin, descendant of Ledin. As he returns to his hometown for a short visit, both Hein and Erwin are drawn into the eddy of a war in which they never thought a country of their size would be involved.
